Privacy Policy

The short version
Shinken collects the minimum needed to sync your focus sessions across your devices: your email
(for sign-in) and your session records (duration, topic, optional goals). We don't sell your data,
we don't run ads, and we don't track you outside the app.
Who we are
Shinken (the "app") is built and operated by an independent developer. Contact:

What we collect

Account: your email address, and an optional display name you choose.
Stored by our authentication provider (Supabase) so we can sign you in.

Focus sessions: for each completed session — the length, the timestamp,
the topic you typed (optional), and the goals you set and marked done (optional).
Stored so your history follows you across devices.

Preferences: dark mode, sound, haptics, daily goal, silence reminder.
Stored locally on your device; not sent to our servers.

Purchase records: if you unlock Shinken Plus, we store the record of
the purchase (source: Apple / Google) so the entitlement follows you across devices.

Crash reports: if the app crashes, we receive a technical report via
Sentry (no personal content — stack traces + device model). We use these to fix bugs.
What we don't collect
- We don't track you across other apps or websites.
- We don't build an advertising profile from your data.
- We don't collect your location.
- We don't collect your contacts, calendar, photos, or health data.
- We don't sell your data. Ever.
Where your data lives
Session and account data are stored with our infrastructure providers:
Supabase (database + auth)
and Sentry (crash reporting).
Both are covered by their own privacy policies. Data is stored in the European Union.
Your rights

Access: everything we store about you is visible in the app itself
(History tab + Account tab).

Deletion: Account tab → Delete my account. Your account is removed from
our servers immediately, along with all associated session records.

Portability: email hello@shinkenfocus.app
and we'll send you a copy of your session data as JSON.
Children
Shinken is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone
under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and note it above ("Last updated").
Material changes will also be communicated in-app.
