Using Shinken

By downloading or using Shinken (the "app"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the app. The app is provided by an independent developer ("we" / "us"), contact hello@shinkenfocus.app.

Your account

• You can use the app without an account, but syncing across devices, unlocking Shinken Plus, and viewing history require one.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe. If you suspect your account has been compromised, contact us and change your password.
• You can delete your account at any time from the Account tab. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

Shinken Plus

• Shinken Plus is a one-time in-app purchase (€4.99) that unlocks features described in the app: focus history, per-topic breakdowns, session goals, and the accomplishment log.
• The purchase is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) and is subject to their refund policies.
• Once purchased, Shinken Plus follows your account across devices. It does not renew and does not expire.

Acceptable use

Don't do any of the following while using Shinken:

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or exploit the service.
• Use the service to store or transmit unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.
• Automate account creation or use the service in bulk without permission.
• Interfere with other users' access.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. We'll try to give you notice first when it's reasonable to do so.

The service, as-is

Shinken is provided as-is. We do our best to keep it working, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service, absence of bugs, or a specific feature set into the future. We may change or discontinue parts of the app.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Shinken. Our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, which for most users is either €4.99 (Plus) or €0 (free tier).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of the Netherlands.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be communicated in-app and noted here ("Last updated"). Continued use of the app after changes means you accept them.
